Well filters
р.
р.
The main functions of downhole filters are:
1) Filtration of formation products
Retain sand, clay and other particles, preventing them from entering tubing (tubing)
2) Prevent abrasive wear on equipment
Reduce the mechanical impact of solids on pumps, valves and other components of the production system.
3) Stabilize bottomhole zone
Prevent well wall failure and excessive sand formation that can lead to accidents.
4) Improving well flow rate
Ensure a uniform and controlled flow of hydrocarbons.
5) Extend well life
Reduce the likelihood of premature well failure due to clogging and erosion of equipment.
Types of well filters:
Slotted filters - metal pipes with longitudinal slots that provide mechanical strength and good filtration.
Perforated pipes - used in combination with gravel packing for additional filtration.
Wire filters (Wedge Wire) - consist of spirally wound wire, high flow capacity and resistance to clogging.
Ceramic and composite filters are used in aggressive media with high content of corrosive substances.
